Join BATTSi Partners at Kokkola Material Week!

Kokkola, home to one of Europe’s largest chemical clusters, is an ideal meeting place for actors across the battery value chain. Each year, Kokkola Material Week brings together industry experts, researchers, and innovators to exchange insights and explore the latest developments in raw materials, processing technologies, circular solutions, and the future of batteries.

The BATTSi project partners will participate in this year’s event by sharing updates from their ongoing research and discussing sustainable solutions for producing battery-grade silicon from industrial side streams.

You can meet BATTSi representatives and hear about the project’s transnational cooperation in two sessions:

  • Advanced Composite Si NW/Graphite Anode for High Capacity Lithium Batteries Applications
Muhammad Zain Bin Amjad, PhD Research Scholar, University of Limerick
    GeoKokkola, 12 November 2025

  • Production of Battery-Grade Silicon from Biobased Sources: Case Brewery Waste Byproducts
Jakov Lubenets, Centria University of Applied Sciences
    ReKokkola, 13 November 2025

We warmly invite you to join the discussion and discover how the BATTSi project is advancing sustainable battery technologies in the Northern Periphery and Arctic region.
