The BATTSi project strengthens collaboration between research organisations and industry across the Northern Periphery and Arctic. Its goal is to develop new ways to extract and convert silicon-rich industrial side streams, such as grain husks and geosilica into bio-based materials for the growing battery sector. By working together across borders, the project promotes circular use of resources and supports the region’s role in sustainable battery technologies.

BATTSi welcomes companies, research organisations and ongoing projects to a networking event on 14 January at 13:30–15:00 (CET).

The session offers a focused look at our current activities and early results, and invites you to share what matters most for your organisation. Together, we will explore how our work can support your needs and how future collaboration could strengthen innovation across the Northern Periphery and Arctic regions.

The event is open to all actors interested in the valorisation of silicon-rich side streams and the development of sustainable battery materials.
