First Coaching Programme to Support Companies’ Readiness for Sale Launched at Business Joensuu

The project’s first coaching programme, designed to strengthen companies’ readiness for future ownership transitions, has officially launched at Business Joensuu. Four companies are participating in this 4 + 1 week programme, which aims to help them ensure their businesses are in the strongest possible position when the search for a successor becomes relevant in the coming years. The coaching is delivered in collaboration with all Finnish project partners and will inform the wider BOCOD project.

The opening workshop, led by Laura Veikkola (University of Oulu), introduced participants to the theme "Entrepreneur’s Mental Preparation for a Business Sale". In the second session, Jouko Piirainen and Heli Hirvonen (Business Joensuu) explored the key factors that influence company value, and participants had the opportunity to calculate the current value of their own businesses.
Upcoming sessions will focus on topics such as company processes, digital readiness, critical dependencies, and overall preparedness for sale, as well as the business acquisition process. Participants will also receive practical guidance from a tax expert on how to carry out a successful business sale.
On completion of this round of coaching, the next programme will begin in the Autumn.
