The 4th Icelandic Seal Center Symposium

The Icelandic Seal Center (ISC) is an associated partner in the CAP-SHARE project. Located in Hvammstangi, northwestern Icelandic, the main goals of the ISC are to promote local sustainable tourism and to contribute to the development of sustainable seal and wildlife tourism in Iceland and abroad. The ISC Symposium is held every year. However, this year is a very special year as they celebrate their 20th anniversary.

The 4th Icelandic Seal Center Symposium is co-organized by the CAP-SHARE project, Hólar University, the Icelandic Seal Center, the Icelandic Museum of Natural History, the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute, Húnaklúbburinn youth club, and Grunnskóli Húnaþings vestra school.

The ISC would like to continue its tradition of supporting students, early-stage career professionals, and other dedicated scientists who are working in the areas of biodiversity. If you have an idea for a presentation or poster related to the symposium's themes, don't hesitate to apply!

Deadline for abstracts submission is on the 1st of August 2025. Please send a 200-word abstract about your proposed presentation to jessica@holar.is in the following format:

Poster presentations must be in a clean and organized layout with accessible language. The posters will be displayed at the local elementary school. The poster should be on scientific research in a format that is understandable to a general audience.
