As part of MINDSET, the aim of this workshop was to carry out capacity building on Regional Mission-Oriented Innovation (Reg MOI) with stakeholders within the Carndonagh Decarbonising Zone.

The Carndonagh Decarbonisation Zone (DZ) is a designated pilot area in County Donegal, Ireland, where Donegal County Council and local communities collaborate to implement localised climate actions.

The key objectives guided the session: capacity building on the concept of RegMOI, systems mapping and identifying “Missions”  that can be could be considered for implementation within the decarbonisation zone.

RegMOI addresses the lack of bottom-up approaches in innovation, offering a framework for communities to collaboratively tackle societal challenges such as climate action, housing, and skills development at the local and regional levels.

The event marked a significant step in building awareness and participation among local actors as part of Donegal’s climate action strategy.
