Buildings enclosed by greenhouses, shielded from the harsh northern climate, open up new avenues for sustainable living. In this project, we have started gathering and processing data to evaluate how these greenhouses can serve as efficient climate shells, enhance heat storage, and extend the outdoor season for residents.
Additionally, we aim to explore food production opportunities and more. By leveraging recycled wastewater and passive solar energy, we strive to address the challenges posed by polar nights while maximizing the advantages of the brief Nordic summer.
We are excited to follow the work by Ane Solbakken Sæterdal and Trond Svenøe at UiT.
