Nord Open Week and Creative Weekend 2026

Nord Open Week (NOW) is an international, interdisciplinary conference that explores artificial intelligence across all five faculties at Nord University. Over the course of a full week, from creative workshops and public events to academic sessions and industry dialogues, NOW brings together students, researchers, educators, professionals and the wider community. The aim is to spark new ideas, foster collaboration and engage with AI’s educational, ethical, creative, social, health-related, biological, technological and economic dimensions. In 2026, Nordic Bridge Project Team is participating in this event and planning a hackathon on the UX design of the portal.

Creative Weekend

The Creative Weekend is a one-of-a-kind creative marathon seeking for innovative proposals to novel challenges and topics in the field of entertainment. The event is similar to creative jams, game jams and hackathons, where the people collaborate during 48h to develop innovative projects. However, what makes the Creative Weekend special is the unique very broad “Entertainment” topics and the combination of participant profiles including diverse art and media disciplines, technology, education and health sectors, in an experience to coexist.

In 2026, one of the Hackathon theme is Nordic Bridge.

We will divide all interesested participants such as students, professionals or enthusiasts, to run for a chance to suggest the UX design layout of Nordic Bridge Portal.
It will be hands-on, cross-disciplinary gathering where participants collaborate on ideas, prototypes and artistic explorations connected to AI and digital creativity.
The hackathon winners will have the opportunity to win prizes.

6–8 February (Friday–Sunday): Creative Weekend

9 February (Monday): Online Day
- A fully virtual day offering talks and discussions accessible to international guests and participants across campuses.
10–12 February (Tuesday–Thursday): Main Conference
- Three days on campus in Levanger featuring workshops, seminars, presentations, panel discussions and networking events. The programme combines academic insight with professional practice, highlighting how AI can inspire new methods, new collaborations and new perspectives.
