North Karelia Welfare Area – Siun sote takes care of public social and health care, rescue services and environmental health care services to approximately 163,400 North Karelians. The purpose of Siun sote´s operations is to support, secure and produce well-being in order to make North Karelia a good place to live.

Mehiläinen Länsi-Pohja Oy is responsible for public primary Health Care, Outpatient services in Kemi, Keminmaa and Tornio in Lapland Finland. Mehiläinen Länsi-Pohja's primary healthcare services for oral health and outpatient care include, among other things, local health centers and rehabilitation.
