A Bright Meeting in November’s Twilight with Our Associated Partner Siun sote

The RemoTED team from Karelia University of Applied Sciences organized a workshop for supported housing instructors, who work in Siun sote’s home-delivered services across different parts of the North Karelia region.

The goal of the workshop was to get acquainted and plan the collaboration to be carried out during the project. We had previously met on Teams and introduced them to the RemoTED project.

During the workshop, we reviewed preliminary results from the Digital Skills and Technological Readiness -survey. We reflected together on their experiences, for example, in developing digital skills or using digital solutions in client work. The discussion brought up very interesting development ideas and thoughts on digital solutions that could improve the work of housing service instructors and benefit clients.

The key themes and development needs that were discussed:

  • Artificial Intelligence in social work
  • Methods utilizing gamification in client guidance
  • Various tools and methods for remote guidance in services for working age clients

At the end of the workshop, we explored the technological solutions showcased in Karelia UAS’s Wellbeing and Health Technology Showroom. Our “breathing” robotic dog Lumi received plenty of pats and such a positive reception that Lumi was invited to join a regional tour and to be tested in a social rehabilitation group.

We thank Siun sote’s housing service instructors for inspiring discussions and active participation in planning the project activities!
