Future wellbeing through technology and collaboration – RemoTED at the Liikkuva tulevaisuus - Demoday event

Technology and wellbeing meet at Lapland UAS event

The event was organized with EU support by Lapland UAS’s wellbeing technology projects Arctic RoboWelfare, MOCAPPE, HyTe Testbed and LiFt-hanke (EAKR). The morning program featured project highlights and an inspiring keynote by futurist Elina Hiltunen.

Insights on implementing new technology

During the roundtable discussion, Project Manager Susanna Leskinen shared insights on how new technology can be smoothly implemented into everyday work. She emphasized that development requires understanding target groups’ needs, knowledge of technology’s benefits, and professionals’ active involvement, along with proper training before implementation. This ensures that new solutions genuinely support workflow and service accessibility.

Hands-on demos

In the afternoon participants explored practical applications and technologies through demos and product showcases: 
🤖 Temi 3 robot – Presence from afar: video connection and safety at home. The Kemi campus now has a new Buddy robot, which will be integrated into social and healthcare education and utilized during the RemoTED project.
🧘‍♀️ Immersive VR experience – Ice swimming & Yoga: chills without the cold It sparked ideas on using immersion and gamification in training modules.
🧪 Usability testing at the Testbed – featuring the YetiCare solution and integrated OnniTV service. Discussions highlighted their potential in rehabilitation and increasing activity.
🩺 Fysioline Group – Introduction to the Dessintey SRT rehabilitation technology.
🧰 Medeka – Virtual exercise solutions to support wellbeing.

 

New insights and collaboration opportunities


The event also inspired the RemoTED project to actively develop ongoing training offerings for associate partners in Lapland using gamification technologies. Seeing the benefits of motion sensors, VR and mobile technologies sparked ideas on making learning more engaging and helping professionals adopt new technologies more smoothly.

The event provided RemoTED with valuable insights and new collaboration opportunities that support a more inclusive and accessible working life regardless of time or place. Thank you to all the projects for organizing such an inspiring day!
