Community event about the proposed Finnish tourist tax system

As part of the RETURN project, the Finnish project partner at the University of Lapland will organise a community event in Rovaniemi to discuss how potential tourism tax revenues could benefit the city and its residents. The event is organised in cooperation with the City of Rovaniemi and aims to create an open space for dialogue on how tourism-related revenues could be used to support sustainable and regenerative development in the destination. The main goal of the event is to better understand how local inhabitants view the possible use of tourism tax revenues and what kinds of investments they consider most valuable for the community. Insights gathered during the event will contribute to the RETURN project’s work on Tourism Revenue Transfers (TRTs) and help inform future discussions on tourism financing models. The event is open to the public, and all interested residents and stakeholders are warmly welcome to participate in the discussion.
