Strengthening Workplace Well-being Through Collaboration in Vilhelmina

The Swedish partners in the Tech2Heal project recently came together in Vilhelmina, Sweden, for a two-day collaboration focused on advancing well-being in the workplace.

Hosted by the Swedish Centre for Rural Health, the session created space for reflection, shared learning and joint development around a central question: how can organisations evolve while continuing to support and care for their people?

Through the Tech2Heal initiative, partners are exploring how technology can play a key role in enhancing workplace well-being. Tools such as technology-enabled self-assessments and guided reflection are helping organisations better understand employee experiences, enabling more proactive approaches to reducing stress and fostering sustainable working environments.

This work is particularly relevant for organisations operating across large geographical areas or undergoing periods of change, where new approaches are needed to strengthen connection, resilience and long-term sustainability.

Discussions throughout the event were guided by two core questions:

  • What does well-being and happiness at work mean?

  • What creates value within our organisations?

Participants also benefited from expert insights shared by Mats Reinhold (Umeå University), whose research focuses on organisational psychology and leadership and Linnea Nyberg, wellness coordinator at Region Västerbotten.

The second day focused on extending the impact of this work. Through interactive workshops, partners explored how research, insights and practical experiences can be more effectively communicated and applied, supporting the development of health and care services in rural and sparsely populated regions.

The event provided valuable perspectives, meaningful dialogue and renewed momentum as the Tech2Heal partnership continues its work to support healthier, more sustainable workplaces.
