From 3–5 November 2025, the Tech2Heal consortium convened in Tromsø, Norway, for an inspiring and productive project meeting hosted by the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research. The gathering brought together project partners, researchers, and innovators from across Europe to discuss progress, share new insights, and explore the next steps in advancing digital health solutions.

Exploring the Future of Digital Health

Across two intensive days of presentations and discussions, participants examined the ongoing work of the Tech2Heal project and its growing impact within the digital health landscape.
The programme featured a rich mix of research, implementation experience, and forward-looking debate. Sessions addressed key topics such as:

  • Governance, health technology assessment, and digital regulation

  • Experiences with video consultations in mental health care

  • Information support for health professionals in complex patient pathways

  • Dignity Care and evidence-based interventions in healthcare

  • The use of artificial intelligence and language models for clinical coding

Each presentation offered valuable insights into how digital innovation can improve the accessibility, quality, and sustainability of healthcare systems across Europe.

Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange

A key goal of the Tromsø meeting was to strengthen collaboration among the project’s partners and connect with local innovation actors in Northern Norway. Participants were introduced to pioneering organisations including Nattugla, ABEL Technologies, and the FOSS Skills and Simulation Centre at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.

These exchanges highlighted the strength of the regional digital health ecosystem and its alignment with Tech2Heal’s mission to bridge research, innovation, and practical application. The meeting underscored the importance of cross-border collaboration in driving meaningful, patient-centred health transformation.

Warm Hospitality and Arctic Inspiration

Beyond the formal sessions, participants enjoyed the opportunity to experience the distinctive charm of Tromsø, a city where innovation meets nature. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and illuminated by the northern lights, the Arctic capital provided a breathtaking backdrop for the meeting’s discussions and networking activities.

The programme also included informal gatherings at Skarven Vertshus and Fangst, where partners deepened connections in a relaxed setting. The warmth and hospitality of our Norwegian hosts created an atmosphere of genuine partnership and openness, perfectly complementing the meeting’s spirit of collaboration.

Looking Ahead

As the consortium looks to the months ahead, the momentum built in Tromsø will continue to guide and inspire the next stages of the Tech2Heal project. The insights shared and relationships strengthened during the meeting reaffirm the consortium’s shared commitment: to create sustainable, inclusive, and effective digital health solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives.

Sincere thanks are extended to all presenters, partners, and especially to our hosts at the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research for their outstanding organisation and hospitality.

Together, we are shaping the future of digital health, through innovation, collaboration, and shared purpose.
