The Arctic Edge partner meeting in Reykjavík offered an excellent opportunity to review ongoing project activities, strengthen cooperation, and explore new ideas for the next stages of the project.

During the meeting, partners discussed several key project outputs, including Pilot 1 deployment documentation, performance metrics assessment, video storyboard development, use case collection and validation, and technology transfer mechanisms. The discussions highlighted the strong momentum within the partnership and the shared commitment to supporting digital and technological development in northern regions.

As part of the programme, the partners visited four inspiring Icelandic companies: Össur, Límtré Vírnet, JBT Marel, and Controlant. The visits provided valuable perspectives on innovation, technology adoption, international cooperation, and the needs of companies operating in demanding northern environments. Each company welcomed the project partners with openness, enthusiasm, and genuine interest in the Arctic Edge project.

The visit also offered a chance to experience Iceland’s unique natural environment, including geothermal areas, volcanic landscapes, lakes, mountains, and the lava-affected area of Grindavík — a powerful reminder of resilience and recovery in the face of nature’s forces. Good weather, great conversations, and a team dinner at the Fish Factory restaurant helped create a relaxed and memorable atmosphere throughout the trip.

A warm thank you goes to University of Iceland for organising such a well-structured and inspiring visit. We also sincerely thank Össur, Límtré Vírnet, JBT Marel, and Controlant for their valuable insights, openness, and engaging discussions.

Meetings like this strengthen the Arctic Edge partnership and create a solid foundation for future collaboration as the project moves forward.
