Climate change action monitoring

Donegal County Council (DCC), as part of its work carried out in INNOCAP, implements a pilot project that uses IoT sensors to monitor water levels in the river catchment flowing into Glenties Town. These sensors provide real-time data, allowing the team to understand the river’s hydrological response to local weather events. This information is subsequently used to test the efficacy of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and assess how they improve the catchment’s overall resilience and mitigation of flood risk.
