The final day of the REGENERATE Interreg learning journey brought partners and stakeholders from Finland, Iceland, and Sweden together for a dynamic wrap-up in County Cavan on Wednesday, April 29. Building on the immersive experiences of the previous days, the final itinerary emphasized reflection, capturing insights, and exploring community-led eco-tourism.

Day 3 Highlights

 

Following the rich experiences of the previous days, the final itinerary shifted focus toward collaborative reflection and exploring community-led ecotourism. The day began with a group bus pickup as participants set out for their final round of site visits and discussions.

 

Serving as a gateway to the spectacular Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark, Bawnboy is the perfect starting point for exploring the breathtaking mountains, lakes, and archaeological treasures of Ireland's border region.

 

Trivia House

Hosted by Tony, the visit to Trivia House provided an authentic look into the rich cultural and rural heritage of the region. Participants learned how local traditions are preserved and integrated into community life.

The group engaged in a hands-on session designed to capture the core takeaways from the trip. Participants reflected on their experiences across the landscape and discussed how to apply these regenerative practices within the project's broader framework.

 

Corralea Activity Centre

Hosted by Brian, the afternoon featured a site visit showcasing sustainable outdoor recreation, complete with a BBQ lunch and an eco-spa. The group traveled back to the hotel via the stunning landscape of Bellavally Gap.

The learning journey officially closed, with participants departing inspired and ready to integrate regenerative practices into their respective regional projects.
