During the session, “Reasons why and advantages of sustainability reporting”, cases from three different SMEs were highlighted to give insight into why some companies still choose to report even though it is voluntary. The cases from Norrmejerier, Metsä-Multia and Kyl & Frysexpressen gave the participants three different views of sustainability reporting.

The next part of the workshop focused on in what cases the SMEs should consider using tools for their reporting. Ellinor Axelson from Parilo painted a clear picture of when tools are needed and when they are not by giving examples in a “Yes and No”-list.

The main focus of the workshop was next. During five minute pichting sessions, seven different tool suppliers got to show their solutions. After the pitches the participants got to choose a tool to take a closer look at during longer breakout sessions. The suppliers were:

VSME training, Nelly Kortesniemi, Lapland UAS

VSME Digital Template, Mathias Mingazzini, EFRAG

Strimple, Per Berggren, Strimple

ARC - Activity reporting for carbon, Ciara Greaney, White Spire

ESG-tool, Vilma Saari, DIMECC

Planmark, Mikko Hentunen, Planmark

A total of 33 participants from Sweden, Finland and Ireland took part, including representatives from SMEs, their customers, regional developers, and reporting experts.
