About Target Circular
The project, funded by EU programme Interreg, worked with SMEs to transition towards circular and sustainable practices by helping businesses to use a "Strategy Mapping" process to make decisions about how to effectively implement sustainability measures.
Our aim
The Target Circular project was a collaboration between institutions in Ireland, Finland, Norway, Iceland and Sweden, and builds on recent research into how businesses can use a more scientific approach to decision-making. The project was led by the Hincks Centre of Entrepreneurship Excellence, with the support of Circular Economy Cluster Southwest, at MTU in Ireland. The project created and disseminated materials with business advisors and policymakers in each participating country, promoting evidence-based policies and training approaches to increasing Sustainable SMEs' success. Target Circular provided business founders with cutting-edge tools and knowledge to transition towards circular practices, incorporating waste valorisation, environmental partnerships, and sustainable supply chains. These tools empowered businesses to make informed decisions, identify pathways to sustainable success and avoid pitfalls.
