About Antti Isosalo & the Centre for Wireless Communications:

Dr. Antti Isosalo is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oulu, Finland, with expertise in signal processing and machine learning. He holds a Master of Science (Technology) in Information Engineering and a Ph.D. in Medical Physics and Technology from the University of Oulu.

In his doctoral dissertation, Dr. Isosalo studied the application of computer vision and medical image analysis in breast cancer screening examination classification. His research examined the learning of different breast tissue types using direct digital mammography and breast tomosynthesis data. His current research interests focus on deep learning, medical image analysis, and computing.

The Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC) at the University of Oulu addresses major technological challenges in global digitalisation, 5G, 6G, and the Internet of Everything (IoE), including health-related applications that support reliable and seamless wireless personalised care. CWC’s areas of expertise include body area networks, data transfer to electronic health records, edge-cloud continuum technologies, and secure solutions for care facilities.
