ASTRIC

Attract skills and talent through Regional Innovation Capacity insights

About ASTRIC

The ASTRIC project supports the development of stronger regional innovation ecosystems that contribute to a green and just transition by addressing key capacity and skills needs across partner regions. The project works closely with regional stakeholders to identify shared challenges related to talent attraction, talent retention, and the transition to a more sustainable economy. By understanding the needs of policymakers, higher education institutions, industry, and regional support organisations, the project uses the METRIC methodology to identify relevant indicators and data sources that support meaningful evaluation and demonstration activities. The overall aim is to support the development of tailored, long-term solutions that strengthen regional innovation ecosystems. Capacity building and shared learning are central to the project approach. Workshops, collaborative sessions, and knowledge exchange activities bring together stakeholders including science parks, municipalities, higher education institutions, and industry representatives to share best practices and improve how innovation ecosystem outcomes are measured and understood. This collaborative approach supports stronger regional cooperation and long-term knowledge sharing. The project also supports the adaptation and scaling of evaluation methods across different regional contexts. Working with stakeholders, frameworks and processes are developed to help transfer and apply solutions more widely. This contributes to improved decision-making, policy development, and resource allocation, while supporting continued collaboration and long-term regional impact beyond the lifetime of the project.
