NEB Goes North! Circular projects transforming the Northern Periphery and Arctic

  • Meet us online on 10 June 13:00-15:30 (CET) to hear about six inspiring examples of how New European Bauhaus principles can be used in projects in Northern and Arctic regions.

  • The event is part of NEB Festival 2026, where inspiring case studies on how NEB can transform our built environment will be presented.

Can the Northern Periphery and Arctic region (NPA), known for its remote and sparsely populated communities, inspire a more sustainable, beautiful, and inclusive built environment? We invite you to a virtual event showcasing projects that prove it is possible.

On 10 June, 13:00-15:30 (CET) at NEB Festival 2026, six best practices will be presented, representing a broad spectrum of projects, ranging from building design to social cooperation initiatives and culminating in a policy instrument. All these projects incorporate NEB values and principles by combining three dimensions of a supportive built environment: sustainability (circularity, limited pollution), aesthetics (quality of experience, style beyond functionality), and inclusion (valuing diversity, securing accessibility and affordability).

The best practices were selected through the Call for Best Practices in NEB in the Northern Periphery and Arctic Region, organised within the Bauhaus Goes North (BGN) and funded by the Interreg NPA Programme, co-funded by the European Union. More information about the winners and runners-up of the Call is available here.
