CATALIS is launched - building Arctic infrastructure knowledge across borders

CATALIS has officially launched as an Interreg Northern Periphery and Arctic project. Running for 12 months and bringing together seven institutions from Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Faroe Islands, and Iceland, the project sets out to make proven Arctic infrastructure research usable in practice, for engineers, public authorities, and organisations working on durable, low-carbon construction across the region. The project builds on results from two previous Interreg projects: Ar2CorD, which developed and tested low-carbon concrete mixes for Arctic conditions, and OFFwind, which addressed icing, coatings, and ice-structure interaction for offshore wind infrastructure. CATALIS synthesises their findings, demonstrates them at the Narvik field station, and establishes a Transnational Arctic Durability Network to keep the knowledge moving across the region. The project is co-funded by the European Union through Interreg NPA.
