RemoTED at the Lead Partner Seminar in the Faroe Islands

Looking beyond the project lifetime

The seminar brought together representatives of Lead Partner organisations from the 4th, 5th and 6th call projects across the NPA programme area. During the seminar, participants shared experiences, worked together and discussed how project results can continue to be useful after the projects end.

The Legacy Workshop focused particularly on what remains after projects come to an end. Participants looked at the results and products being developed in their projects and considered which of them could be transferred and used by other organisations, in different contexts or in other regions.

From the RemoTED perspective, the discussion highlighted several important outputs, including the RemoTED toolkit, training and training materials, as well as the methods used to identify digital competence needs. Transferable results do not necessarily have to be finished materials or individual solutions. They can also include methods and processes developed during the project.

The workshop also encouraged participants to identify who could take up and use the project results. Developing and publishing a result is only one part of the process. It is equally important to identify the professionals, organisations and other stakeholders who could benefit from the results and continue using them in practice.

RemoTED already has some concrete plans for this. The online training developed during the project is intended to remain available after the project and to be included in advanced studies for nursing students at Lapland UAS. Another important project output will be the RemoTED toolkit, which will bring together knowledge, methods and practical lessons from the project for use beyond the project lifetime.

Reaching the right audiences

Communication was also an important topic during the seminar. We discussed how to reach the right target groups and how to communicate project results in a clear and useful way. It is important that people not only find the results, but also understand how they can benefit from them and use them in practice.

One important point was that as projects progress, communication should increasingly move from simply describing project activities towards communicating results and their practical value. Publishing a new tool or resource does not automatically mean that it will be used. Communication should make clear who the result is for, what need it addresses and how it can be used in practice.

Communication managers also exchanged experiences of different communication channels and ways of reaching target groups. For a project such as RemoTED, professional networks, partner organisations and direct contacts can be particularly important when reaching social and healthcare professionals.

The seminar provided a useful opportunity to look at RemoTED’s results from a longer-term perspective. It was valuable to consider already during the project what we want to remain in use after the project ends, who could benefit from the results, and what is needed to ensure that they are actually taken up and used. Discussions with representatives of other Lead Partner organisations also provided new perspectives on both the uptake of project results and project communication.

The Lead Partner Seminar combined useful discussions and peer exchange with other NPA projects with an opportunity to experience one of the unique regions within the NPA programme area.

Experiencing the Faroe Islands

Alongside the seminar programme, we also had some time to explore the beautiful and unique Faroe Islands. The dramatic landscapes, small villages and distinctive island environment made a lasting impression, and we had the opportunity to see many wonderful places during our visit.
