The Irish partners of CIRCNETS, Western Development Commission and the University of Galway, supported by the Clean Technology Centre, are hosting a half-day workshop exploring the economic potential of end-of-life fishing gear and examining the preparedness of the sector for an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme in Ireland.

This in-person workshop takes place on Tuesday 9th September 2025 from 10am-1pm at the University of Galway. The exact location will be shared with the registered attendees.

The event brings together industry experts, academics, and stakeholders to discuss circular economy opportunities in the Irish fishing sector. The morning will feature expert speakers, case studies, and a participatory workshop where attendees will engage with key questions around reuse, recycling, and policy preparedness. 

The event is also EMD in My Country event.
