Circular economy of fishing gear - what is that all about?

NTNU Ålesund will be organising an international seminar about circular economy of fishing gear at their campus in Ålesund (SMIA) on Wednesday, 15th of May. The event is first of many upcoming CIRCNETS seminars, which will be organised in the partner countries.

The event brings together experts working with different aspects of circular economy of fishing gear. The speakers include representatives of fishing gear producers, companies utilising recycled plastics from fishing gear as well as researchers working with these issues. If you are interested about how we can prevent marine plastic pollution, the fate of the end-of life fishing gear or how we can become more resource efficient and recycle these materials, this is an event for you.

The seminar takes place in Ålesund, on the west coast of Norway, which is the land of rugged & tireless fishermen and women and majestic sceneries. However, if you can't make it to Ålesund, you can follow the seminar remotely. The seminar is an EMD in My Country event, so participants from every corner of Europe and beyond are welcome to join us. The seminar is free of charge, but pre-registration is required. Please, sign-up by Monday, 13th of May. Online participants will receive a link to the event before the event.
