Connecting northern regions through transnational cooperation!

As our RemoTED project moves forward, let's take a moment to look at where our partners are located and what brings us together.

Interreg Northern Periphery and Arctic (NPA) Programme supports cooperation between regions across Northern Europe and the Arctic. These regions share many challenges including long distances, sparsely populated areas and difficulties in accessing essential services.

On the map, you can see the NPA programme area highlighted in dark blue and the locations of our project partners marked with red location pins. In remote areas, long distances can make accessing social and healthcare services particularly challenging. Through RemoTED partners from Finland, Ireland and Iceland are working together to explore how digital technologies can help overcome these challenges and improve access to social and healthcare services, regardless of where people live.

Our partners:
Lapland University of Applied Sciences (Lapland UAS), Rovaniemi, Finland (Lead Partner)
Karelia University of Applied Sciences (Karelia UAS), Joensuu, Finland
Atlantic Technological University / WiSAR Lab and Technology Gateway (ATU), Letterkenny, Ireland
University of Iceland (Háskóli Íslands) (UI), Reykjavík, Iceland

Despite the long distances between our partners, we aim to reduce the environmental impact of our travel by choosing low-carbon travel options whenever possible.

We will also soon be introducing the people working on the RemoTED project through our upcoming Meet the Partners series.
