A programme built on 25 years of cooperation

Over 25 years, the Interreg NPA has helped communities across Europe’s northernmost and most remote regions to innovate, collaborate, and thrive. This anniversary conference brings that journey to life through an interesting programme.

The event kicks off on 30 September with a welcome reception and Interreg Day celebration at Bodø’s iconic Stormen Library, setting the tone for three days of exchange and inspiration.

On 1 October, the theme will be “The Building Blocks”. Participants will dive into the legacy of NPA projects. Parallel sessions will explore pressing topics such as tackling marine plastic pollution, empowering digital innovation in rural communities, regenerative tourism, energy efficiency, and social entrepreneurship. The day also marks the official launch of the 6th call for projects – a milestone moment for those looking to contribute to the next phase of cooperation. A festive conference dinner at the Wood Hotel will round off the day.

On 2 October the spotlight turns to “Dialogue About the Future”. High-level speakers and thematic sessions will invite participants to reflect on what comes next: from engaging youth in biodiversity and Arctic futures, to supporting sustainable SMEs, to exploring the game-changing role of AI and IoT in regional development. The closing panel will look ahead, asking how cooperation in the Arctic and Northern Periphery can evolve to meet future challenges. And before departing, attendees are invited to raise a glass together at the thank-you and goodbye party at Bodø’s Bådin brewery.

Why you shouldn’t miss it

This is more than a conference, it’s a celebration of people, places, and partnerships that have transformed the Northern Periphery and Arctic over 25 years. It is a chance to hear from leading voices, exchange fresh ideas, and connect with a diverse community working for sustainable futures in some of the most unique regions of Europe.
