The Interreg NPA programme is managed and supported by a number of programme bodies that are responsible for administering the programme and assisting projects. The programme bodies include representatives from all partner countries from the local, regional and national level, as well as members from youth and indigenous peoples organisations. The Interreg NPA Joint Secretariat offers one-to-one advice as well as trainings and online webinars. While the Secretariat is based in Copenhagen, a network of Regional Contact Points is available to support you in your country and your language.

Programme Bodies

The Joint Secretariat administers the programme, assesses project applications, assists with all project-related inquiries and helps promoting projects.
The Secretariat consists of a small team based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The team is happy to assist with any queries regarding project ideas, partnerships, draft applications, project management, etc.
The Managing Authority (MA) manages the programme on behalf of the partner countries. They issue the Grant Letter, oversee the financial claim process, and handle payment transfers to projects.
The Monitoring Committee (MC) oversees the programme and selects project applications. It operates based on agreed rules of procedures.
It includes representatives from partner countries, permanent observers from neighbouring regions (Scotland, Northern Ireland, Canada, and Saint-Pierre-and-Miquelon) and receives advisory input from the European Commission as well as representatives from youth and indigenous people organisations.
The MC meets twice a year, the meeting dates are published on the events section of the website. After each meeting, a summary of the MC decisions is published on the page of the meeting.

Each participating country in the Interreg NPA programme has a Regional Contact Point (RCP) who provides local advice and information. RCPs have expertise and knowledge on how to develop and manage a transnational project, they work closely with the Joint Secretariat and participate in the regional appraisals of the project applications.
It is recommended to consult your RCP during project planning and implementation.
Regional Advisory Groups (RAGs) in each partner country advise on main project applications. They consider applications from a regional perspective, make recommendations to the MC, and support project development
Controllers refers to the task of checking that all project expenditure is eligible according to the NPA Eligibility Rules, European regulations and national legislation.
The procedures for controllers vary from one programme partner country to another. Each partner should refer to the control system of the country where it is located as described in the Programme Manual.

The NPA Secretariat (Joint Secretariat) carries out the day-to-day operational administration of the programme. It consists of a small team based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Our team is dedicated to supporting our project developers and managers, ensuring good project performance.
