A challenge-driven digital portal for collaborative projects to drive sustainability and innovation

What we do

Nordic Bridge project addresses challenges in the NPA region, such as brain drain, limited collaboration between academia and society, and under utilized research capacities. The project will create a challenge-driven digital portal for collaborative projects to drive sustainability and innovation. Public, private, and community sectors will post problems, challenges, case studies, and goals in the portal. These will be shared with students and researchers, who can contribute based on their expertise, leading to collaborative projects, such as thesis. Joint thesis collaboration agreements between partner universities will strengthen student and researchers of partners to contribute to challenges of each other regions. The main result of this project is a transnational challenge-driven collaboration portal, benefiting public, private, community sectors, and universities.

Nordic Bridge Kick-Off

The kickoff meeting took place in Sligo, Ireland on 2nd April 2025. The meeting was hosted by our partners Atlantic Technological University and Advancing Innovation in Manufacturing (AIM) Centre. We also had the pleasure of visiting FutureCast and their local innovation ecosystem. Thank you to all hosts for the warm welcome and inspirations. The meeting brought together both main and associated partners, including: Lapland University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Hólar University (Iceland), SSNE - Samtök sveitarfélaga og atvinnuþróunar á Norðurlandi eystra (Iceland), Bodø Næringsforum (Norway), Student Organization Bodø (SOB) (associated partner from Norway), Eimur (associated partner from Iceland), and Sligo County Council (associated partner from Sligo).
