REGENERATE

Regenerative Tourism in the Northern Periphery and Arctic for building resilient communities and preserving the unique heritage of the region

What we do

The NPA is a fragile region, vulnerable to the effects of growing tourism. Tourism can have serious environmental impacts, which is why a shift in the sector is needed. Regenerative tourism offers a more sustainable approach by helping to restore and improve the places people visit. Both public and private sectors have a key role to play. Their cooperation is vital for developing a more responsible tourism industry. The main challenge is to introduce and build up skills for regenerative tourism practices. This project will support that by providing training, strategy, and marketing tools to help protect natural, economic, and cultural resources, creating a model for a more sustainable and resilient future in the NPA and beyond.
