RETURN

Regenerative Economic Transfers for Universal Resilience in the North

What we do

In many parts of the Northern Periphery and Arctic, tourism brings in money. But that money often does not help local people or protect the environment. The RETURN project looks at how tourism money can be shared more fairly. The goal is to find real-life examples where income from tourism is used to support local communities and nature. RETURN collects these success stories. It shows them to local leaders across the NPA. The project explains how things like tourism taxes or voluntary visitor payments can work in different places. RETURN will also create helpful tools. These include policy guides, legal advice, and training for local people and decision-makers. The project connects regions with similar problems. This shared learning helps everyone.
